Dual-active PDRN formulas: why combining PDRN with a second anti-aging active accelerates results
PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) activates the adenosine A2A receptor pathway on dermal fibroblasts, stimulating collagen and elastin synthesis and suppressing inflammatory degradation. When combined with a second anti-aging active in a dual-formula architecture, the two actives address different but complementary aspects of the aging process. PDRN builds new collagen (supply side); EGF (epidermal growth factor) stimulates cell renewal and receptor sensitivity. More recent studies using tape-stripping and fluorescence-labelled PDRN have confirmed that low-molecular-weight PDRN fragments (below 10 kDa, achieved through hydrolysis) penetrate to the upper dermis through transepidermal routes within 30 to 60 minutes of application. This depth of penetration is sufficient to reach the fibroblast A2A receptors that produce the regenerative signalling cascade. The requirement is hydrolysed, low-molecular-weight PDRN — not the high-molecular-weight PDRN used in injectable formulations, which do not penetrate the stratum corneum.

Position the dual PDRN serum as the treatment serum step in the evening routine — after first-step toner and before moisturiser. Apply two to three drops and press gently into the skin with palms (do not rub, which disrupts the serum film).
